Could This Item Be The Best Practice Tool?

Back when I was studying classical guitar, my teacher mentioned one item that made a huge difference in his playing and he encouraged me to get one and use it regularly. What was that item? A guitar stand.

He learned that if his guitar was in the case, he would only play guitar when he could set aside enough time to justify pulling the guitar out of the case, practicing, and putting it back in the case. But, with the guitar on the guitar stand, he could pick his guitar up anytime he had a few extra minutes and practice something.

He encouraged all his students to put their guitars on a stand and to pick it up and play a scale or song anytime they had a couple extra minutes.  The small investments of a few minutes here and there can lead to a huge payoff.
